All's Fair has been deemed the worst show of the year, "an atrocity", "so awful it feels almost contemptuous" - and we're obsessed.
The Ryan Murphy legal drama, starring Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close and Teyana Taylor (a stacked cast, with some starry cameos too), has received terrible reviews – including a rare 0 stars from the Guardian, lol. But the best way to watch it is to reject snobbishness, and luxuriate in the camp telenovela drama and made-for-memeing one-liners.
For our annual colleen gift guide, we've let these ridiculous characters with fabulous wardrobes lead the charge.
ALLURA GRANT

"Will Jane Austen really help you to adjust to aging and gravity and public opinion?"
The main character, who’s front and centre of every group photo she finds herself in. Kim Kardashian basically plays herself in this role, with an extravagant, body-conscious wardrobe to go with it. Whether she’s in lace pants for court or a whale tail thong in the office, she doesn’t give a damn about dress codes and societal expectations of what’s appropriate.

CARRINGTON LANE

"See you in court, cuntburger."
Honestly, she’s a bitch. But the creative shade and insults are borderline camp, and said with perfect venom by Sarah Paulson. Carrington’s style is all amour and shoulders, a way to stop anyone getting close: sharp tailoring, door-knocker jewellery and a sharp side-part.

EMERALD GREENE

“I’m the queen of the castle, and I deserve all this.”
Niecy Nash embodies this fabulous, glamorous and independent character, whose past life as a detective serves her well – she can track down almost anything about anyone (think of your most gossipy, in the know friend). She’s been through a lot, but shows up for herself with unapologetic love of self-care: really good food and drink, and a drawer of sex toys ready to go. She loves a fashion accessory too, with a mission to bring back funky hats.

LIBERTY RONSON

"From cocktails to cock rings all in one 24-hour period - God, I love my job."
The straight woman of the group who brings a sensible, knowing maturity to proceedings. Her style is understated, classic and chic, with a preference for muted colours and sumptuous fabrics (she loves a cashmere throw). Her icy blonde bob, always perfectly coiffed and coloured, is just physical proof that she means business. Played by Naomi Watts – champion of menopausal women everywhere – Liberty is all about practicality, but with a romantic heart underneath it all.

DINA STANDISH

"Do you ever think how much happier we'd all be if your mother swallowed?"
Glenn Close plays the matriarch who commands respect, and maybe a bit of fear. Intelligent and steely, she’s the one you turn to for advice, or a reality check. She’s lived a little and developed an unapologetic taste for the good things, whether it’s champagne, art or minimalist homewares. You’ll never see her without a tie or pussybow at her neck.

MILAN

"Do I look like a moth to you? Hell no, I'm a motherfucken butterfly and I know this."
Is she a sweetheart, or actually out to get you? The verdict’s still out on this side character, the law firm's ambitious receptionist played by Teyana Taylor. She’s the type to wear lace panties under her worn-in exercise shorts, and make it look like the hottest thing ever.
