For Harris Tapper's debut show at New Zealand Fashion Week, the hair was less polished perfection and more bratty Victorian rich girl who's been out all night, then collapsed into a bit of bed rot.
The collection's European undertones fed into the morbid Victorian beauty look: a sleek centre part, hair worn down, and texture that whispers early-century decadence with a touch of rebellion.
"It looks undone, but there are a lot of technical steps to get that undone look right," explains Lauren Gunn, colleen founder. "Product choice becomes really important when you want something to look good yet not contrived."
Two Davines products did the heavy lifting, while being used very subtly: the More Inside No Gas Spray and Dry Wax Finishing Spray both lending a lived-in, languid richness.
Here's how to get the slept-in but chic look at home.

STEP ONE
Section hair into a centre part. Take a fine messy section from each side of the centre part and clip out of the way for the final step. Distribute Blow Dry Primer throughout the remaining hair and blow dry smooth and flat.

STEP TWO
Spray the hair throughout with More Inside Invisible No Gas Spray. Wrap into a bun, apply heat with a blowdryer to create some natural movement and release the bun.
STEP THREE
Gather the hair at the ends and tie with an elastic band into a looped half knot. Release the top section and spray with Dry Wax Finishing Spray to create a bed head texture and tuck behind the ears.

PRO TIP
Rubber bands make the best hair-tie for this look, no slip guaranteed.
