Here in NZ we experience extraordinarily high levels of UV radiation. In Northland the UV index can reach as high as 14, that’s pretty high given that the index only goes up to 20 and anything higher than a 10 is considered to cause serious damage to hair and skin.
Unlike heat and light, you can’t actually feel UV radiation. Cloud cover can offer some protection (good news for Aucklanders) but our less than perfect Ozone means we’re all at risk of UV damage no matter where we choose to hang out in this beautiful land.
