The annual dilemma of where to take your Valentine just got a little easier! Our staff shares their top picks for a date night, for every kind of mood.
HELENA MADONNA'S PICK: ESARN ROCKET
Esarn Rocket in Westmere is super consistent, we’ve tried so much off their massive menu and everything is delicious. It’s a beautiful spot to sit outside in the summer and the staff are always super lovely.
ENISA KARTAL’S PICK: ATELIER K’ROAD
Atelier had a beautifully calm energy in the space, a total disconnect from the busy (chaotic) energy of K’road. The staff are amazing and fantastic at explaining their French menu. Try the ‘Trust the Chef’ menu, it’s a multi-course menu that takes the guesswork out when you’re too busy looking into your date’s dreamy eyes! They also have cocktails on tap that match perfectly with the menu.
PHILLIPA HOFMAN’S PICK: GEMMAYZE STREET
I love Gemmayze Street, especially if you get the love seat. It’s a perfect view of the Sky Tower and chef Samir Allen always takes care of us. They have a great Lebanese wine selection too.
HENER’S PICK: A MODO MIO
A Modo Mio is a dark and quiet Italian place with a great Diavolo pizza, good wine and fun staff.
CAMILA SARLO’S PICK: WAIHEKE ISLAND
Do a day trip to Waiheke- spend the day at Onetangi beach followed by dinner at Three Seven Two. The steak is particularly good and the fried chicken is a fave. They do every cocktail imaginable.

SHANNEN AROON’S PICK: MAUKATIA [MĀORI] BAY
Enjoy the sunset at Māori Bay lookout with a picnic blanket and some strawberries.
