Bleach, Braids & Bangs: London Fashion Week Highlights

London Fashion Week always turns it on in a big way. Full of personality, charm, glamour and grunge. The street style is on another level, emerging designers are given their chance to showcase their designs (read: blood, sweat and tears) and the hair and makeup; there is always a major moment!

The week began with a memorial service for the late Dame Vivienne Westwood, Sir Ian McKellen stopped the SS Daley show with an Alfred Tennyson poem, while JW Anderson brought along his giant penis billboard and tiny bows romantically fell from the faces of the models at Simone Rocha; it was all there.

Hair was vibrant shades of red, it was bleached to the brink and back, we saw tumbling braids, baby bangs and delicate crystal headpieces; these are our TOP FIVE favourite hair looks from the runways at London Fashion Week Fall 2023:

RED REIGNED SUPREME

Simone Rocha

Yum, juicy berry tones are our favourite flavour.

Emilia Wickstead

This burnt orangy-red vibe is providing some autumnal inspiration at Emilia Wickstead.

Edeline Lee

Renaissance red hair.

Burberry

Keeping warm from head to toe at Burberry.

Nensi Dojaka

Bright copper tones look fire gelled into a sleek look.

NEVER MIND THE BOLLOCKS OR THE BLEACH

Asai

Ditch the baggage; bleach, crop and texturize.

Erdem

Get those icy locks glistening with a healthy dose of shine spray, or a finger full of gel combed forward for a cool wet look.

Richard Quin

An elegant side part and combover style are simple yet effective. Go heavy on the eye makeup and add a lick of latex to balance it all out.

Burberry

Best bed hair; you can never go wrong with a piecey pixie cut. They look even better freshly rolled out of bed a bit ruffled up.

SS Daley

Neutral makeup and glowing skin work perfectly with an angelic Cherubim Haircut.

BRAIDS

Simone Rocha

Faux locks twirled up into a flower for Simone Rocha.

Di Petsa

An ethereal braided updo with tumbling loose curls. Beautiful!

Molly Goddard

It's giving Balletcore. Cornrows tied back into a soft, flouncy natural hair.

Simone Rocha

Loose bows tied on top fall into flowing braids on Simone Rochas' runway.

Yuhan Wang

Flamboyant and frou-frou with big hair entwined with lace ribbons.

BANGS

Moncler Genius

Baby bangs for this marshmallow pink AI girlie

Dilara Findikoglu

Chopped up into bits and pieces.

Burberry

Curly bangs forever!

Roksanda

A blunt bob and the sleekest, sharpest bang you ever did see.

Chopova Lowena

Beetlejuice bangs for the baby goths.

EMBELLISHED FINISH

Di Petsa

We're crying crystal tears over here.

Dilara Findikoglu

“She’s coming back for revenge, dressed as she wants. And she has her knives.”

David Koma

Braids, broaches, and embellishments; now this is something we can get behind!

Erdem

The best in show goes to Erdem with this crystal-encrusted wet look. Grunge and glamour is making waves.
