Showgirls

Nomi, a young drifter hitchhikes to Vegas and dreams of making it big as a showgirl. She meets Molly Abrams, a costume designer who offers her shelter when she is faced with trouble. There are too many lines to quote from this camp favourite that was panned at the time of release, but has since had a resurgence of appreciation.

Hackers

Dade, a tech genius, is banned from using a computer till he turns 18, after he is deemed responsible for writing a virus. When he turns eighteen however, he decides to create another virus. But more importantly, it stars Jonny Lee Miller and Angelina Jolie.

Now and Then

Four childhood friends gather together to prepare for the birth of Chrissey's baby. They wonder how the girls they were at 12 years could possibly have become the women they are now. This coming of age film has a stacked cast playing characters then, and now: Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Gaby Hoffmann, Ashleigh Aston Moore, Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, and Rita Wilson.

Empire Records

A group of misfits who work at a small, independent record shop help their manager collect money to buy the enterprise. However, they discover kinship while also trying to fight off a corporate giant. Damn the man!

Before Sunrise

While travelling on a train in Europe, Jesse, an American man, meets Celine, a French woman. On his last day in Europe before returning to the US, he decides to spend his remaining hours with her. Romance and hot people, what more do you need.

Dangerous Minds

LouAnne, a retired US marine (played by 90s queenMichelle Pfeiffer), becomes a teacher in a Californian high school. But her mostly Latino and black students from an impoverished and racially segregated locality do not easily embrace her.

Mallrats

Two best friends seek the comforts of the mall when their girlfriends leave them on the same day. They end up engaging in disruptive activities and eventually decide to win their girlfriends back. Directed by Kevin Smith, it stars actors of the era Jason Lee, Jeremy London and Shannen Doherty.

Waiting to Exhale

Directed by Forest Whitaker and based on Terry McMillan's novel, the film follows the friendship of four Black women and the challenges they face in relationships and the world. Starring icons Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett, with a soundtrack by Babyface - peak mid-90s.

Tank Girl

In a post-apocalyptic future with limited resources, Kesslee takes control of the water supply. So, Tank Girl and Jet Girl join forces with the Rippers to challenge Kesslee.

Die Hard with a Vengeance

A terrorist, Simon Gruber, wants to rob the Federal Reserve Building. He engages disgraced police officer John McClane (played by Bruce Willis; hot) in a game where if the cop loses, it will result in bombs going off in New York.

Sense and Sensibility
The classic adaptation of the Jane Austen novel. After the death of their father, three young girls find themselves in abject poverty. The responsibility to provide for the family lands on the oldest sisters, who are also dealing with heartbreaks.

Two friends, an unemployed slacker and a small-time drug dealer played by Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, find themselves indebted to a gangster. They set out to secure money to save themselves from being killed. "Bye, Felicia."

To Die For

Suzanne Stone, a weather reporter at a nondescript cable station, wishes to become a prominent news anchor. But she feels that her middle-class husband will thwart her plan - so, she plots to kill him. Nicole Kidman and her hair have a moment in this black comedy.

Batman Forever

The one with Val Kilmer as Batman, Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face, Jim Carrey as The Riddler and a perfectly coiffed and dressed Nicole Kidman as the glamorous love interest and psychologist Dr. Chase Meridian.

Kids

A day in the life of a group of teens as they travel around New York City skating, drinking, smoking and deflowering virgins. Directed by Larry Clark and written by Harmony Korine, this cult and controversial film stars a very young Chloë Sevigny and Rosario Dawson.

Clueless

Do we really need to explain this one? Cher is a rich high-school student who is learning to cope with adolescence and its problems. She also helps a new student gain popularity and in the process discovers her own feelings for someone.
