Sometimes, the only cure for a rut is doing something bold with your hair: chopping it all off, switching up your colour or stepping out with a completely new look.
Whether you're ready to make a dramatic change - or just flirting with the idea and need a little styling inspiration - these recent celebrity hair transformations might be the push you need.

Pamela Anderson debuted a new Joan of Arc-esque bob and baby bangs at the Met Gala.
"I love it, because I feel like I'm the best version of me right now," she told Vogue. "I've been kind of slowly cutting my hair over different projects that I've been doing in the last couple months, and I thought I was just gonna go for it with this. I actually really love it. It's so freeing — I've had a pixie cut before, but this is nice."

Katie Holmes may have a curly bob with micro bangs in her latest role in Poker Face, but for the show's premiere she showcased textured waves and 'bronde' highlights - a look that had the internet in a tailspin ("Katie Holmes’s Styling Has Everybody in a Chokehold Again" wrote The Cut).
Her hairstylist DJ Quintero told Allure that he accentuated her natural texture, using a leave-in conditioning spray and small iron to enhance the texture that was already there. "Then I set it by putting it into random larger braids all around her head", before finishing with a texture spray.

For the Met Gala, Nicole Kidman matched her classic Balenciaga gown with a dramatic pixie cut with dark roots by hairstylist Adir Abergel. He described the look as “a tailored short cut that brought out the essence of Dandyism”, styling it with a side-part and volume at the crown.
Three days later, she appeared at an awards show with classic Nicole Kidman long, poker straight hair.

Kris Jenner opted for a girly version of the 'cunty little bob' that's everywhere right now, with longer bangs and chin-skimming length and a bow. The look, by stylist Justine Marjan, was just for a shoot as the Kardashian matriarch seems to be back to her signature pixie cut.

...does a dramatic hair shift from a fictional character count? Not really, but we'll allow it because the cut is so chic. Lily Collins' Emily (as in, 'in Paris') is back for season five, sharing this BTS look from filming and showcasing the character's sharp, centre-parted bob in the place of the usual perfectly coiffed soft waves.
